Visit by the Ethiopian Ambassador to the Biorefinery Complex, UPM

On 18th October 2024, the Biorefinery Complex at UPM had the honor of hosting the Ethiopian Ambassador to Malaysia. The visit was warmly received by Prof. Ts. Dr. Hidayah Ariffin, Head of the Biorefinery Complex, who guided the ambassador on a tour of the complex and introduced him to the various facilities and research equipment available at the Biorefinery Complex, assisted by Associate Prof. Dr. Norhayati Ramli.

During the visit, the Ethiopian Ambassador expressed interest in discussing potential collaborations in the fields of biomass and biorefinery, aligning with the recent official visit by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia to Malaysia. It is hoped that the relationship established will advance our shared goals in innovation, sustainability, and research related to biomass and biorefinery.
