As many as 22 students and two teachers from Japan's Yokohama Science Frontier (YSF), have conducted research activities at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecule Sciences (FBSB) UPM, recently.
FBSB UPM Senior Lecturer, Dr. Ahmad Muhaimin Roslan said for two days the YSF delegation in UPM various beneficial activities have been carried out such as a visit to the palm factory Seri Bandar Palm Oil Mill Sdn Bhd.
"On the second day, students have been following the Knowledge Transfer Program (ID) regarding nanocellulose which was presented by Prof. Dr. Hidayah Ariffin.
"Throughout the program, there was also involvement from FBSB students and staff, who were further invited to present their research at the YSF-Forum for International Research in Science and Technology," he said.
This good cooperation between UPM and YSF Japan has begun to take shape after the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on March 17 last year.
The visit of the YSF delegation indirectly supports UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025 goal 1, creating resilient graduates in the face of the challenges ahead.
