Previous and Current Research Group Leader

Founding Leader: Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Ali Hassan Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Ali Hassan founded the Environmental Biotechnology Research Group (now B&B Research Group) in 2008. With a vision of converting sustainable bioresources into value-added green products, he led the group through significant growth and innovation. Notable achievements include the establishment of the Biocompost Pilot Plant and the Biorefinery Complex at UPM.

Current Leader: Professor Ts. Dr. Hidayah Ariffin Prof. Ts. Dr. Hidayah Ariffin took over leadership in 2022, bringing a fresh perspective and new initiatives to the group. With her expertise in biotechnology, she has continued to drive the group's mission forward, overseeing groundbreaking research projects and fostering a collaborative research environment. Under her guidance, the B&B Research Group remains dedicated to pioneering biotechnological solutions for a sustainable future.
